Why engineers need to learn economics

 Understanding economics are crucial for engineering

 student because they are related in a way both of them

supplement each other. It enable engineering student to 

develop products prior to the great economic changes. 

Furthermore, economics can help the engineer find ways to 

reduce cost of product transportation from source to 

destination. For example, reduce terminal cost and make 

freight rate based on railway cost. Moreover, they will see 

through economic waste in their invention and thus 

preventing it from occurring in the community. They also 

can develop waterways which can reduce unit cost of hauling 

freight from source to destination. Besides that, the study of 

economics give deep understanding on the social conscience 

as an engineer that think in terms of groups of men. 

Engineering students who learn economics have broader 

view and inspiration that produces motivation that will drive 

them as future engineer through all failures of success that 

are worthwhile.
